Listen to music in a castle

How often do you have an opportunity to listen to the music in a real castle? We do not always have time, money or desire for expensive concerts in original locations. But there is a place in Poznań called Blue Note Jazz Club, situated in the former Imperial Castle, only 10 minutes walking from the Old Market Square.
The place is not big and concerts are rather intimate. However, the offer is wide – you can hear blues, jazz, soul or even hard rock there. Check out the club’s calendar and choose something for the winter’s evening.

Blue Note Jazz Club
address: ul. Kościuszki 79, Poznań (in the Center of Culture Zamek)

Tickets available in the club’s bureau, open Monday – Friday during 1.00 p.m. untill 7.00 p.m., and in Center of Cultural Information  (ul. Ratajczaka 44).

The website is only in Polish - You can use help of Center of Cultural Information (phone +48 61 85 40 752, +48 61 85 40 753; e-mail: cik@wm.poznan.pl) being the place with all the infos about events, festivals and concerts in the city.

The exhibition has been prepared by two museums: Archeological Museum in Poznań and Museum of the Beginings of Polish Country in Gniezno.

Fat Thursday  ||  February 28th, 2019

If you are familliar with Shrove Tuesday, you will not be confused. Poland has a similair holiday and it is called Tłusty Czwartek which translates into Fat Thursday. Instead of pancakes, we devour tones of doughnuts ( [sing.] pączek in Polish ). Even though homemade ones are the best in the world, you will encounter long cues to the pastry shops, especially to those window shops with doughnuts only. Prepare for that and do not be shocked.

Let yourself go and try our delicacy. You will not regret.

If you will have any difficulties finding any shop with sweets, just ask in a Torusit Information on the Old Market Square or Main Train Station, or type pączkarnia poznań in Google search.
