Poznań Army Museum
The museum collects historical artifacts and literature related to the participation of the ‘Poznań’ Army in the September 1939 campaign. The permanent exhibition facility entitled "The faithful oath" commemorates the combat route of the army with particular emphasis on the Battle of Bzura (9-16 September 1939), and as its commander Maj.-Gen. Tadeusz Kutrzeba.
The museum is housed in an underground gallery corridor preserved after 1945 and now known as the ’Small Lock’, which is actually the Western Gantry of Fort Winiary, leading to the Small Lock. The Western Gantry linked Fort Winiary with Fort Adalbert (Hake) built at the end of the Small Lock. It created a steep driveway sloping from the western retaining wall. Access across the gantry is by way of the Cemetery Gate.
Free entrance with the Poznań City-Card. Free entrance on Tuesdays. Tickets are valid also in the Museum of Arms.
