Spanish month at Gusto Food&Wine

Traditional Spanish dishes, wine tastings, live music, flamenco shows - these are just a few of the attractions to be found at Gusto Food&Wine restaurant in April.

Spanish month is an event aiming at popularising Spanish cuisine and culture in Poland and it is organized by Gusto Food&Wine in collaboration with Spain-related organizations and companies - Poznań Culinary Tourism Association, the organizer of Que Pasa Festival - Centrum Języków Obcych, Culinary Poznań - an initiative associating Poznań restaurants - as well as dancers from Poznań’s School of Flamenco.

Throughout the month of April, Spanish dishes can be sampled at Gusto Food&Wine. For this occasion, the Executive Chef of Ilonn Hotel and Gusto Food&Wine, Roman Kosmalski, has put together a very special menu. Next to seafood or the intriguing saffron bouillon, the Spanish cuisine menu also offers the famous Spanish churros, served non-traditionally - with white chocolate. The culinary experiences do not end there.

  • On April 11th (Sat) - Spanish cooking workshop. Next to the popular tortillas and tapas, workshop participants with try to tackle the Cocido madrileño - a traditional Madrid stew, whose recipe has been passed along from generation to generation since the 15th century. The workshop is part of the Culinary Poznań Academy. Tickets are available at  www.kulinarnypoznan.pl.

  • On April 24th (Fri) - a special “live cooking & wine tasting” event at Gusto Food&Wine. There will be the opportunity to taste Spanish wines and delicacies which will be prepared right on the spot, in front of your very eyes, by Chef Roman Kosmalski and Julian Redondo Bueno - chef and photographer. The sommelier Mateusz Dobrzykowski will tell you all about Spanish wines. The start is at 7pm.

  • On April 25th (Sat) at 7pm, yet another authentic Spanish fiesta will start in style - with a flamenco show. A lot like in the previous year, Gusto Food&Wine kicks off the summer season of outdoor seating and barbecue with a bang. This year, Spanish rhythms will be complementary to and the inspiration of a special grill menu. Throughout the night, you will be able to enjoy the authentic Spanish guitar sounds as performed by Kacper Hepner, playing pieces by masters of the genre - Isaac Albeniz and Francisco Tarrega.

Chef Roman Kosmalski’s culinary journey to Madrid gave the inspiration for Spanish month. The chef had perfected his craft at the famous A Punto Libreria Gastronómica school, and visited the world-renown la Bola restaurant, in business since 1870. Inspired by the atmosphere and flavours of Madrid, Kosmalski has decided to incorporate their small part into the space of the restaurant under his culinary command - Gusto Food&Wine.

Spanish month at Gusto Food&Wine takes place between April 7th and 30th.
