More France in Bistro La Cocotte

Romain Lanternier is a Frenchman, born and raised, who has gained his enormous experience in many leading hotels and restaurants in many parts of France - such as Doussard, Grenoble, Chambery, Giez or Corsica. Today, he lives and cooks in Poznań, Poland, and you can taste his French delicacies at Bistro La Cocotte.

Bistro La Cocotte serves prize-winning and much appreciated, homemade dishes of the French cuisine. On the menu there are the typical crowd-pleasers such as onion soup, foie gras or mules. Another of their favourites is the duck confit and boeuf Bourguignon. Despite a rather small menu, there is plenty to choose from, and the taste of the dishes you chose will take you on a journey to faraway France. In the fall of 2015, the restaurant was awarded by a famous French culinary guide for the second consecutive time. While awaiting the next award for 2016, we keep our fingers crossed for the cozy bistro.

The appearance of a new chef is a chance and a challenge all rolled into one. The challenge is to keep the restaurant’s existing pristine reputation; the chance - the chef’s rich experience and his descent. The slightly modified and refreshed menu is filled with appetizing classics whose taste will take you all the way to France. Natural flavours, simple combinations and the ever-present butter leaves no doubt in anyone’s mind - this is the land of the Franks!

The bistro can be visited without a special occasion or a stuffed wallet. Drop by for coffee, for cake, for a glass of wine, and let the casual atmosphere and lovely, open staff take care of the rest. The staff will tell you all about what French cuisine is, and what makes La Cocotte so unique. The adventure with French cuisine can start with a two-course lunch, available for as little as 20 PLN. This is a real treat, considering the exquisite quality of dishes served here.

You may want to also keep a watchful eye on La Cocotte’s Facebook profile - their multiple-course tasting menus often appear there first. A tasting menu is a great opportunity to feast with your family and friends in real Southern manner. As the chef puts it - food is mostly about getting together, talking and spending time with one another.
