World Youth Day during IPSA Congress in Poznań
Between July 20th and 25th, Poznań will host 3000 pilgrims from around the globe!
World Youth Day (WYD) is an initiative started by Pope John Paul II in 1985. WYD takes place every three years in different parts of the world. The latest WYD RIO 2013 has brought around 3 million youths together. WYD consist of two parts - the central event (every three years) and the diocesan level (yearly).The central event will take place in Kraków, Poland beween July 25th and 31st, 2016. The main organizer of the event is a committee with a headquarters in Kraków in cooperation with the state, voivodship and regional authorities as well as the media.The Diocesan Days are the level hosted by particular Archdioceses and Dioceses around the country. One of the hosts is the Poznań Archdiocese.
The event takes place between July 20th and 25th, 2016, and the pilgrims will remain in Poznań from July 23rd till 25th, 2016.
