Task Force X concerts in Poznan

At the beginning of next week, a special NATO Task Force X unit will carry out its operations in Poznan. What is its goal? To invite the city's residents to dance, through two energetic concerts to be held on Monday, April 24 in Wilson Park, April 26 at Plac Wolności (Freedom Square).

In March of this year, the first permanent garrison of US troops in Poland was inaugurated at "Camp Kosciuszko" on Bukowska Street. This means that soldiers, as well as female soldiers from overseas, will stay here for longer.
However, soldierly life goes on not only in the barracks, and the soldiers hope to become part of the Poznan community. That's why the command of the U.S. Army Permanent Garrison in Poland has decided to invite the Task Force X music band, famous for its lively performances, which is part of the SHAPE International Band.

The band will play two open concerts in Poznan:

🎵 Monday, April 24, 2023, 6:00 pm, Wilson Park

🎵 Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 6:00 pm, Plac Wolności (Freedom Square)

Admission to the events is free.

The band's sound is heavily influenced by the brass section. And what will you be able to hear? The repertoire will include the greatest hits of rock, pop, R&B and country. There will also be musical surprises.
Task Force X is part of the NATO SHAPE International Band, a military orchestra that was founded in 1983. Although its origins can be traced back to the 1940s, when the American Orchestra at the Supreme Command of the Allied Expeditionary Force was formed. It was led by Glenn Miller - one of the most famous jazz musicians of the 20th century with the rank of major.
Today the head of the band is Ensign (CW3) Robert Bruns, and a total of a dozen musicians of both sexes, representing the armies of NATO countries, play in it. The idea of the band is to remind us of the importance of cooperation and unity - both in music and in everyday life.
