There's hardly time to catch one's breath after the recent finales of both the Malta and Animator Festivals, with the third big cultural event of the summer - Transatlantyk Festival - beginning on the 2nd August.
The Transatlantyk Festival of film and music is the youngest event on Poznań's cultural calendar, having initially been founded by academy award winner Jan A. P. Kaczmarek in 2011.
The main focus of Transatlantyk is film, and this year literally hundreds of screenings will take place at Multikino 51 and Kino Muza. The films are divided into categories such as documentary, road, eco and culinary. The culinary selection will be accompanied by four-course dinners with the food served based on the themes covered in the films.
There'll also be an outdoor cinema at Plac Wolności where you'll be able to watch movies in the comfort of mini-bedrooms designed by Vox Furniture.
Yoko Ono and Thurston Moore's first ever Polish performance is the highlight the festival's music programme. They'll be playing at the Adam Mickiewicz University Auditorium on 7th August. A concert will also be held to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Varèse Sarabande on the 4th at the same location.
Many of the events at Transatlantyk are free, so why not check out the website and choose some quality music or film to enjoy.
