13th "Half Price Poznan" - a virtual edition

"Poznan Half Price", the project which for twelve years has sold up to 100,000 tourist services for half price during a two-day event, will take place despite the limitations. A special, virtual edition of the event will extend for more than a week from May 2nd to 10th, 2020, and its main objective will be to support Poznań tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Poznan Half Price" is one of the most recognizable tourist brands in Poznan, known and awarded in Poland and Europe. The event is organised by the Poznań Tourism Organisation (PLOT). This year marks its thirteenth edition. However, due to the COVID-19 epidemic and the related restrictions, holding the event in its existing format would simply not be possible.

We maintain two pillars of the project, i.e. the unique tourist offer and the excellent quality of Poznań tourist services at a bargain price, but we take these pillars to a new dimension –says Jan Mazurczak, CEO of PLOT.

The tourist offer will therefore be available on the Internet. It will include virtual walks around the city with guides, as well as online tours of Poznan's exhibitions and museums.

Moreover, also on the Internet, tourist services will be available at an attractive price in the form of vouchers for future use. In this way, you can plan a weekend in Poznan and its surroundings by choosing a hotel, lunch in a great restaurant or Poznan Tourist Card and use it in the future.

This is not only an opportunity to plan a weekend in Poznań with attractive discounts, but also a real form of support for the Poznań tourism industry – Jan Mazurczak emphasised.

Recruitment of partners from Poznań and the surrounding area continues. Entrepreneurs offering vouchers for tourist products and services, as well as institutions and organizations willing to present their offer on-line can take part.

– Due to special circumstances, we invite you to contact the " Poznan Half Price" organizational team directly. Contacts are available at www.poznanzapolceny.pl and on the campaign's Facebook page (@polceny). We approach each offer individually and try to advise how best to prepare it – says Wojciech Mania, coordinator of the "Poznań Half Price" campaign.

The website will also provide space for accompanying initiatives aimed at supporting the survival of Poznan's tourist attractions. All information will systematically appear on www.poznanzapolceny.pl and on facebook.com/polceny.

The organizers hope that the "Poznań Half Price" brand, which has been developed for several years, will support the tourism industry. The Poznań Tourism Organisation has been conducting a number of such activities since March. These include making reliable information available on www.poznan.travel, organizing teleconferences and seminars, representing the industry in meetings with the Polish Tourist Organization and the Ministry of Development. It also promotes the available tourist offer. On the Poznan.travel portal you can find information about the possibilities of virtual sightseeing in Poznan and a directory of places offering take-away and delivery meals.

The #WeWillWait campaign on social media has been going on for several weeks. It is a joint initiative of the cities of Poznań, Gdańsk, Łódź, Warsaw, Lublin and Toruń. Its aim is mutual promotion and exchange of experiences related to the current situation in tourism. The Poznan part of the campaign takes place on Facebook and Instagram @poznan.travel with the hashtag #PoznanWillWait.
