What to do on Valentine’s Day
Whether we like it or not, Valentine’s Day on February 14th has settled for good in the Polish calendar. This year, it also happens to be the last weekend of the Carnival. Here are a few suggestions on how to spend it.
Traditionally, Poznań’s best hotels - Sheraton Poznan Hotel, City Park, Mercure, IBB Andersia, Platinum Palace or City Solei have Valentine’s Day special offers. The elegant interiors and excellent cuisine at their restaurants will create the perfect setting for this special evening. Special bundle offers include romantic dinners, SPA treatments, overnight stays and various events. You can find out more here.
Blow Up Hall 5050 Hotel in Stary Browar has a real mini-festival in store for the lovers between Friday and Sunday. A Valentine’s Day dinner (14th February at 6 and 8pm) is among the many items on the agenda, with chef Tomasz Purol’s special menu consisting of products regarded as aphrodisiacs.
It is worth looking what Poznań’s restaurants have in store for V-Day weekend. Dark Restaurant, a unique place in complete darkness, has prepared many surprises, among which there are special versions of their dish sets: Mood Food (dishes which promote the release of endorphins - especially for the lovers in a limited aphrodisiac version) and Bizarre Food (extreme dishes, breaking the culinary taboos, also including aphrodisiacs).
For those who wish to spend the evening in good company, but not necessarily feel dominated by the Valentine’s Day atmosphere, “Ostatkowy bal karnawałowy” (Shrovetide Carnival Ball) at Concordia Design is an interesting suggestion. On the agenda there is a band and DJ, menu a la carte, a welcome drink and lots of room to meet, chat and have fun in one of Poznań’s most creative spaces.
Not just in Poznań
A concert of Ania Rusowicz will take place on February 14th at 6pm in Suchy Las Culture Center (Szkolna 16). The artist in her music builds a bridge between the big beat sound of the 1960’s and modern sounds. Tickets are available at www.bilety24.pl.
All this is just a small part of Poznań’s Valentine’s Day offers - they should be enough to fall in love with Poznań, in Poznań.
