National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa
The National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa is located about 10 kilometers from Poznań. Its exhibition covers the history of Polish agriculture since the prehistorical times right up to the present day. Many agricultural tools and machines as well as a permanent soil science, folk art and rural crafts exhibition are all part of the museum’s vast collection.
Those among the museum’s visitors who enjoy outdoor activities have the opportunity to participate in many of its open-air events, such as the Pentecost Festival (PL “Festyn Zielonoświątkowy”) and the Easter Market (PL “Jarmark Wielkanocny”), which take place there on a regular basis. The museum also organizes various workshops and shows which, among many others, offer visitors the opportunity to learn about the skills of a blacksmith or a wheelwright. A great attraction for the little ones are the farm animals, present in the museum-owned area in Szreniawa. Kids can see as many as 15 different species of farm animals including sheep, cows, goats and horses. The museum’s wide range of attractive offers makes it one of the places around Poznań definitely worth a visit.
